6 lovely ladies joined us for day 1 of the “Create & Fire Workshop”. The making day started at 9.45am with a cuppa tea and a brief chat about the workshop and the plan for the day. They all started off with a lesson on slip casting and poured some ‘owls’ and bud vases. Using some premade slabs the students got busy with making bowls, vases, platters, a couple of dogs, Christmas decorations, and with balls of clay, some pinch pots. The studio was a hive of activity and creatively. We ended the day cleaning up the slip cast creations and removing the seams. All the students ended up with about 6 items which will now dry, get bisque fired and ready for Day 2 of the workshop, the glazing and firing day.
