Raku Taster Session – 24th March 2023

Friday saw our latest Raku Taster workshop with a fresh bunch of students and one lady who decided it was so much fun last time to come back gain. We had all seasons in one day but for the worse of it we were all glazing pots inside the studio.  The day started with a talk about the history of Raku and then onto the important safety briefing.

Many of the students decided to do more than the 2 allocated pots, so we were slightly pushed before lunch to get then all glazed but we made it. After lunch we fired up the Raku kiln and managed to get three firings done in the afternoon with the student all getting involved in the firing and finishing off their pots.  We had some fabulous looking pots and everyone went home happy with their creations.
