A fabulous bunch of people for our very first RakuMania taster session at our new venue. After the safety briefing and brief talk about Raku, everyone was shown different styles of what we do in the studio. After choosing 2 pots each they had a great time preparing them for firing. Looking on, we had the lovely Widge who came to see what we do and help out. Widge herself a fabulous potter who also does Raku but came away having learnt some new tricks.
Everyone had a great time on the first floor of the studio decorating & glazing their pots. The weather was great, and we all sat outside for our packed lunches whilst we fired up the kiln. We did three firings after lunch, all about 45min each. The results were great, and we had some very happy “RakuManiacs”, some who are already wanting to come back again.
